    DAY-BY-DAY PROGRAM

Day 1: M'hamid - Erg Chigaga - Desert Candles Camp

The tour begins at our office in M’hamid El Ghizlane and takes you off-road into the Sahara using a 4×4 Landcruiser. This exciting journey showcases various desert landscapes, including dunes, reg (pebble), and hamada (stone plateau). Along the way, you may encounter free-roaming donkeys and camels, adding to the authentic experience. After approximately 1.5 – 2 hours of driving, we reach Erg Chigaga, where our desert camp awaits at the base of the high dunes.

    • For 11:00 departures, we provide a delicious lunch at the camp, with vegetarian and vegan options available.
    • NB: During the hot summer months only, we stop at an oasis for lunch, offering a cooler and shaded environment amidst palm trees. After lunch and when the temperatures are cooler, we continue towards the desert camp.

Upon arrival to the desert camp, the nomads warmly welcome you with tea, coffee, and snacks, before you settle into your private tent.

An exhilarating camel ride into the desert awaits, allowing you to witness a magnificent sunset from atop a high dune. The panoramic view of endless sand dunes is breathtaking. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can try sandboarding down the dunes, as sandboards are readily available at the camp.

Back at the camp, enjoy a refreshing shower before indulging in a delicious 3-course dinner served in the restaurant.

After dinner, immerse yourself in the traditional music played by the nomads, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of drums around the campfire. Feel free to join in the singing or dancing, creating memories against the backdrop of an unforgettable starlit sky that shines even brighter out here.

You have the option to sleep in a nomad tent or under the twinkling stars.

(Please note that during the hot summer months, the campfire will not be lit).

    Day 2: Erg Chigaga - M'hamid
