On this trip we pass Berber villages, we drive over the High Atlas Mountains, cross the highest mountain pass in North Africa and it offers a fantastic panoramic view. We visit the most famous Kasbah in Morocco, Kasbah Ait Benhaddou as well as Morocco’s Hollywood city, also called the “Gate to Sahara” and Atlas Film Studios.

Leave the bustling city of Marrakech and go for a day trip to Ouarzazate.
The driver picks you up at 8 am outside your hotel. We head to the High Atlas mountains and pass berber villages and valleys on the twisiting and turning roads, with amazing mountain veiws, and we cross the Tizi n Tichka pass at 2.260 metres.
After driving for about 3 hours, we arrive at Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. The kasbah is listed on UNESCO World Heritage list and is a well-preserved castle with an impressive architecture from pre-Saharan habitat. Many famous Hollywood films have been shot here, such as «Jesus of Nazareth», «Gladiator», «Babel» and episodes of “Games of Thrones”.
We continue for another 33 km until we arrive in Ouarzazate, a quiet city located at the «Gate of Sahara». The city is a popular destination for tourists and is also referred to as Morocco’s Hollywood. Here you will find the Atlas Film Studios where many Hollywood films have been made, including «Lawrence of Arabia», «Alexander», «Asterix» and «The Mummy» etc.
Lunch at a local restaurant overviewing the amazing and big castle Taourirt Kasbah.
The afternoon can be spent by exploring Atlas Film Studios and the Cinema Museum (at own expense).
We head back to Marrakech in the afternoon and arrive at your hotel or riad early evening.
